The panel analyzes the new definition of clinical obesity as a multifactorial disease, its medical implications, and the challenges of its adoption. The new Mexican Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment are presented, promoting an individualized and updated approach, based on the latest evidence, for comprehensive and stigma-free care.
