Lifelong learning in a rapidly changing world: data-driven insights for the future
41m
This presentation will introduce the audience to the latest insights on adults' engagement with learning activities for work and non-work related reasons. It will also highlight the extent to which adults use a broad range of skills at home and in the workplace. Drawing of newly released data from the OECD's PIAAC 2022, the presentation will reveal variation in the delivery of online and distance learning across countries in North and Latin America, Europe, Asia and New Zealand and evaluate inequalities between adults with distinct socio-economic and socio-demographic profiles. Examples will be drawn from evidence on the use of digital devices and on directly measured cognitive skills, notable adaptive problem solving. Apart from presenting novel data insights, the presentation will contextualise these findings through engagement with policy initiatives such as the European Skills Agenda and Singapore's SkillsFuture progamme.
