Science and Innovation Educational Ecosystems (SIEE) are complex networks of interconnected actors, including universities, research institutions, businesses, government agencies, and civil society organizations, that collaborate to foster scientific advancement, technological innovation, and economic growth. Given the challenges of contemporary society, in a context in which science and innovation are crucial to address the problems and challenges we face, universities play a fundamental role in generating and energizing SIEEs, not only to improve the training and research they carry out internally, but also by contributing solutions to other social, business, and territorial actors in the vicinity of the university. To promote this articulation and creation of ecosystems, it is necessary to have strategies that allow the creation of trust, collaboration cultures and interaction models that benefit all the actors involved. In this panel we will delve into the opportunities for generating these ecosystems, their challenges, and successful models of linkage in different contexts and we will discuss the similarities and differences of such ecosystems between Europe and Latin America.
